The death occurred at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, Feb. 13, 2009, of Mr. John Ambrose (Ambie) Weatherbie of Charlottetown in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Faustina (Tene) (nee Peters) Weatherbie. He is also survived by two sisters, Marjorie (Harry) Redmond, Dorothy (Jerry) Brophy, four brothers, Jackie (Clare), Bill (Eileen), Winston (Gloria), Roger, sister-in-law, Trish MacMillan, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John Charles and Mary Ann (Gallant) Weatherbie, and his brother, William “Buddy” Weatherbie. Special thanks to the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr. Alfred Morais, Sherry McGuigan and Bay Shore Health Services. Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 10:15 on Tuesday morning, then transferred to the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held later in the Roman Catholic Cemetery Charlottetown. Visiting hours will be held on Monday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Charlottetown Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will hold a veterans tribute service at the funeral home on Monday at 6:45 p.m. If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I. or the Canadian Cancer Society P.E.I.
