George Dyer, 78, MacLeod’s Hill, Sydney, passed away Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Cornerbrook, Nfld., George was the son of the late Henry and Mae (Decker) Dyer.
He retired from Irving Oil Ltd. after 23 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (MacEachern); daughters, Linda and Susan (Wayne), Sydney and Evelyn (Marc), Quebec; sons, George (Melanie) and David (Debbie), Sydney; sisters, Beulah (Donald) MacRury, Sydney and Hazel (Jim) Walters, Bras d’Or; brothers, Gordon (Bride), Sydney and Fred (Lillian), Halifax; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
George was predeceased by his son, John; sisters, Evelyn and Ruby; half-sisters, Mabel and Agnes; half-brothers, Aubrey, Ross and Alistair of Newfoundland.
