Dora June Brokl VULCAN, AB - Dora June Brokl (nee Steeves), beloved wife of Karel of Vulcan, Alberta, passed away at the Vulcan Hospital on Friday, August 2, 2002, at the age of 69 years. Besides her loving husband, Karel, she is survived by her children, Gerry (wife, Kerry) Brokl of Calgary, AB, Patricia (friend, Douglas Hirtle) Brokl of Sudbury, ON, Myra Brokl of Raymond, AB, and Nancy (husband, Ernie) Tymrick of Delta, BC. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Carlye, Emily, Connor, Dawn and Jennifer. As well, she is survived by her brother, Homer and sisters, Muriel and Irma of New Brunswick. Dora was predeceased by her father, Lewis and her mother, Eva; and sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) and Sandra; and brothers, Roland and Ivan. Dora was born on June 9, 1933 in Albert County, New Brunswick, where she was raised. She moved to Sudbury, Ontario in the early 1950's where she married Karel Brokl where they lived and raised their family. In 1991, Karel and Dora moved to Vulcan, AB where they settled down in retirement. Dora loved animals, the outdoors, camping, and especially traveling. The biggest joys of her life were her family, especially her grandchildren. They knew she could be depended upon for any help required. She will be sadly missed by the entire family. A graveside funeral service was held at the Vulcan Cemetery, Vulcan, Alberta on Thursday, August 8, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with the Reverend Susan McDonald officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Dora's name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 2nd floor, 215 -12 Ave. S.E., Calgary, Alberta, T2G 1A2.
