Thomas Leandera Beadle, 51, of 114 Beech Road, Pictou Landing First Nation, died February 17, 2009, in the QEII Health Sciences Center, VG site.
Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Walter and Marion (Beadle) Francis.
Thomas was a resident of Pictou Landing First Nation all of his life where he worked as a bona fide lobster fisherman for 15 plus years and was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church. He worked with the Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Association as a counselor for several years.
He is survived by his partner, Shannon Labobe, PEI; former wives,Theresa Julian, Pictou Landing First Nation; Peggi Thayer, Pictou Landing First Nation; sons, Daniel, Dray, Quinn, all of PEI; Roger Julian, Pictou Landing First Nation; daughters: Cora Thayer, Alberta; Josie Julian, Pictou Landing First Nation; Tyra Labobe, PEI; grandchildren: Cassia Thayer-McNiven, Ann Thayer-McNiven and Keigan Thayer-McNiven, all of Alberta; god-children: Andie Augustine, Jonathan Beadle, Jeremy Beadle, Sabrina Julian, Willimina Gregory, Jean Gregory and Victoria Anna Gregory; brothers: Gerald Beadle, Moncton; Walter Francis Jr., Richard Francis, Jonathan Francis, Jonathen Francis and Karl Lafford, all of Eskasoni; sisters, Virginia Augustine, and Maurina Beadle, both of Pictou Landing First Nation, Mary Francis, Beverly Francis and Eunice Lafford all of Eskasoni, several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Fabian.
His remains will rest at the home of his sister, Maurina Beadle, 84 Eagle Road, Pictou Landing First Nation, after 7 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1 p.m. Saturday from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Roman Catholic Church with Father Gary MacPherson officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
