Judy Hogan, 64, of Thompson Street, New Waterford, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at home.
Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Owen ‘Ted’ and Eva (Martin) Warner.
Judy was very active in the community and offered her volunteer services for several charities over the years. She was a former member of the Kinettes and active president of the K40 and the St. Agnes, St. Vincent de Paul Society, New Waterford.
Surviving are her children, Paul (Evelyn), Glace Bay, James, Red Deer, Alta., Ralph (Noreen), Mississauga, Ont., Francie, Red Deer, Alta., Lynda (Wayne) Webber, Whitehorse, YT; brothers, Gerry (Mary), Mira, Ralph (Karen), Brooklyn, N.S.; sister, Lynda (Kevin) Murrant, Glace Bay; grandchildren, Samantha, Eric, Austin; great grandchild, Madison.
Judy was predeceased by her companion, Jerry Hogan.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 at the Salvation Army Citadel, New Waterford, with Captains Cyril and Eliza Keats officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Glace Bay, at a later date.
Donations in Judy’s memory may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul or a charity of one’s choice.
