It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rick MacLennan, on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Edward and Mabel (MacIssac) MacLennan.
Rick was a chef by trade and although not recently employed in the field continued over the years to enjoy and shower others with his excellent cooking skills.
He was an avid sports fan and his love of the Montreal Canadians as well as NFL was evident to all who knew him.
Rick’s quick wit and comic humour was a trait he was well known for. His positive happy demeanor never wavered.
Rick is survived by his sister, Patricia Lamoureux, Sydney; four nieces, Wendy MacIntyre, Ann Marie MacLennan, Lisa MacLennan Ross, and Jennifer MacLennan; two nephews, Edward MacLennan, Jason MacLennan, as well as his good friends, Rose and Donnie Courage.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Alex, Edward, John R, John N, Wilfred ‘Rango’.
Visitation will take place Monday, Feb. 23, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care.
