It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Sidney Ingram, age 76, of Georges River, on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 at the Northside General Hospital.
Born in Burgeo, Nfld., he was the son of the late Fred and Fanny (Harris) Ingram. He was a retired fisherman, who was formerly employed at H.B. Nickerson & Sons and later as the skipper of his own boat, the Derek & Sheri.
Sid, a devoted Christian, was known by many for his strong faith, love for God and kindness to others. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church most of his life and attended Grace Fellowship Church in Sydney Mines.
Surviving are his daughters and sons, Cindy (Paul) Hawkins, Lawrencetown, Paul (Rebecca) Ingram, Lower Sackville, Cherri Ingram, Eastern Passage and Joel (Cristen) Ingram, Lower Sackville; his grandchildren, Crystal and John Hawkins, Jessica, Jeremy and Shannon Ingram, Logan and Jamie Lee Bissett and Brennan, Nicholas, Logan, Caleb and Joshua Ingram. Also surviving are his brothers, Fred Ingram, North Sydney, Howard (Freda) Ingram, Port Aux Basques, his twin brother Edward ‘Ned’ (Stella) Ingram, North Sydney and his sisters, Phyllis Eccleston, Michigan, Marie Keeping, North Sydney and his dear friend Marleen Williams; also surviving are brothers-in-law, Gordon Cluett, North Sydney, Aubrey Cluett, Frenchmen’s Cove, Nfld. and sisters-in-law, Gladys Ingram, Burgeo, Nfld. and Evelyn Cluett, Marystown, Nfld.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jessie (Cluett) Ingram; two brothers George and Winston Ingram; brothers-in-law, Arthur Keeping and John Eccleston and sister-in-law, Susan Cluett.
Visitation for Sid was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today (Saturday) from Grace Fellowship Church, Sydney Mines with Pastor Richard Barnes officiating and burial in Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
