Charles Edward Malcolm, age 77 of Autumn Crest Senior Citizens, New Glasgow passed away February 22, 2009, in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late Bill MacKinnon and Ruth Malcolm.
He had been a resident of New Glasgow most of his life where he was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Normandy Branch 34, New Glasgow, serving as Sergeant of Arms for a number of years. He had served overseas during the Korean War. Charles worked as a truck driver and in the construction industry for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Marie, Keswick, ON; children: Mike, Ottawa; Danny, Toronto; David (Jane), Sooke, BC; Douglas (Tammy), Keswick, ON; Debbie (Duncan) Wallaceburg, ON; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Reuben.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009, in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow.
There will be no funeral service at the request of the deceased. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
