Edward Winterbotton, 95, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 in Valrico, Florida.
He returned to Sydney from Boston, Mass., after retiring in 1980.
He was predeceased by his wife, Catherine; son, Johnny; sister, Marie W. Wilson; and brother, John ‘Buster’ Winterbottom.
He is survived by his daughter, Marge Rhodes; four granddaughters, Anne Winterbottom, Eileen Winterbottom Green, Kathleen Winterbottom Lane, Catherine (Kate) Rhodes; grandson, Christopher Rhodes and an extended loving family.
A visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at St. Barra Catholic Church with Fr. Paul Abbass officiating. Interment to follow at St. Barra Cemetery, Christmas Island.
