The death of Helen May Matheson, wife of the late Edgar Matheson, occurred Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, at The Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born 1920 in Montreal, Que., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Ethel (Mercer) Sheppard.
Helen worked as a savings clerk at the Bank of Nova Scotia for several years.
She is survived by two daughters, May Matheson-Thomas (Aubrey), Yarmouth, Maine, and their daughters, Megan Thomas Genthner (Michael) and Aubin Thomas, both of Maine, and one great-grandson, Max Genthner, Maine; Marie Matheson (Nick Soper), Gander, N.L., and their children, Robin Soper, California, Hilary Soper and Katie Soper, Newfoundland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Rd., 646-2424. Following cremation visitation will be held Tuesday, March 3 from 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Memorial service will be held at Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, March 4 at 2 p.m.
