W. David Grimmer, of Rothesay, formerly of Candace Wednesday

W. David Grimmer ROTHESAY, NB - The death of W. David Grimmer, of Rothesay, formerly of Candace Street, Saint John, husband of Elizabeth (Mockler) Grimmer, occurred unexpectedly surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Moncton, NB, on April 19, 1934, he was the son of the late Rev. Howard Grimmer and Avon Raymond. David was a graduate of Rothesay Collegiate School and the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton and was employed with the New Brunswick Community College, Saint John Campus retiring after 32 years of service as the Department Head of Related Subjects. David enjoyed spending his summers in Shediac and was happiest surrounded by his family reading a good book. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be sadly missed. Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Michael (Sherri) of Lewiston, ME; three daughters, Kathy McRae (John) of Saint John, Barbara MacMackin (Stephen) of Hampton and Peggy Grimmer (Stuart Allen) of Saint John; 11 grandchildren, Sarah, Derek, Steve, Mitchell, Haley, Olivia, Conrad, Robyn, Emily, William, and Patrick; one brother, Malcolm Grimmer of Santa Fe, New Mexico and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday 7 to 9 pm and Friday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service will be held at St. Mary and St. Bartholomew's Church, 648 Westmorland Road, Saint John on Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the church. Interment will take place in Minto, NB in the spring. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated. www.brenansfh.com
