Kenneth Johnson 1944-2005 ST. LOUIS DE KENT, NB - Kenneth Johnson, 60, of St. Louis de Kent, passed away accidentally Saturday, January 22, 2005. He was the son of the late Alfred and Lillian (Babineau) Johnson. Kenneth was predeceased by his beloved son Kevin; his sister, Linda Johnson of Saint John; and his brother, Lloyd of St. Louis. Kenneth is survived by his wife, Vianna (LeBlanc); his daughter, Lynne; his future son-in-law, Gerald Gallant of Moncton; two sisters, Lorna Johnson of Saint John, Letha Dugay (Maurice) of Caraquet; three brothers, Ernie (Germaine) of Dieppe, Earl (Judy) of Petit Rocher and Elmer (Diane) of Rexton. Kenneth enjoyed five years of retirement after serving four years as a member of the Legislative Assembly and 26 years as Municipal Administrator for his hometown. He served for six years in the US Army Reserve while he resided in Gardner, Mass. He was the recipient of the Governor General Medal in recognition for his contributions to Canada. Kenneth was an active member of the Richibucto Lions Club, the Richibucto Marina and was President of the St. Louis Co-op Board of Directors. Throughout his life, he proudly served on many committees such as President of the "Federation des Caisses Populaires Acadiennes", "Retrouvaille Acadienne", the Provincial and Federal Liberal Association and numerous other committees. Not only was he committed to his community and his heritage, Kenneth was a dedicated, devoted and loving husband, father, brother and a true friend. He was a man of many strengths, who loved boating, playing cards, strumming his guitar, but mostly he loved to laugh and make others laugh. There are no words that can describe the "greatness" of this man. His strengths, his love, his laugh and his presence will be greatly missed. Resting at Thompson Memorial Home, St. Louis de Kent, with visitation Tuesday 7 to 9, Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and Thursday noon until time of funeral. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Louis des Francais Roman Catholic Church, St. Louis de Kent on Thursday, January 27, 2005 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the memorial of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.
