Brian David "Fudge" Fownes

Brian David "Fudge" Fownes 1947-2005 Brian David "Fudge" Fownes passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at the Moncton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Brian was born in Hopewell Cape on June 1, 1947 the son of Esther (Fletcher) Fownes and the late Vernon "Chick" Fownes. He was a member of the Valley Baptist Church. Over the past few years, Brian enjoyed working on television sets and VCRs. He really enjoyed music and whenever he could get up on stage to play guitar and sing, he was happy. He was a member of the Hillsborough Legion. Brian was always willing to help, being a volunteer for several charities, he would canvas for the CNIB and he often went to the Moncton Hospital, Castle Manor and the Salvation Army Home with his guitar and would have a great time singing and playing for people. He was also known for his story telling. Most of all Brian enjoyed times spent with his family. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, every time his grandson came in the door, Brian's face would light up. He was a very special person who will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by his mother, Esther Fownes of Hillsborough; his beloved wife, Heather (Rogers) Fownes of Edgett's Landing; his daughter, Donna Silvia (Wes) of Moncton; son David (Michelle) of Weldon; his precious grandson, Shawn; brother, Kevin (Christine) of Calgary; brother-in-law, Gary Brantnall of Hillsborough. He will also be sadly missed by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his father, he was predeceased by a sister, Sharon Brantnall. He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Valley Baptist Church on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at 4pm with Rev. Kevin Mahoney officiating. Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation, Arthritis Society, CNIB or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral home, Hopewell Cape, NB 734-2780.
