Austin Geldart SALISBURY, NB - Austin George Geldart, 67, of Salisbury passed away at home on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 surrounded by his family following a lengthy illness. Born in Saint John he was a son of George Geldart and the late Mary (Bannister) Porter. Austin was a retired mechanic and the former owner-operator of Geldart's Auto Salvage. He was an active member of the Nixon Baptist Church and enjoyed stock car racing both as an owner and sponsor and was a former sponsor of youth baseball and hockey teams in the area. Survived by his father, George and step-mother, Eileen of Nixon; his beloved wife, the former Lavina Power; his children, Adella Faria (Arthur) andMargaret Geldart of Ontario, Michelle Geldart of Moncton, Darien Geldart (Jenniffer) of Salisbury; 14 cherished grandchildren; sisters, Faye Quackenbush, Donna Tingley, Cheryl Douthwright, Nina Betts, Carol Ann Taylor, Sandra Porter, Stephanie Kyle, Linda Friars; brothers, Bernard Porter, Paul Douthwright, Kevin Dunville and by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Douthwright. Resting at the Salisbury Funeral Home, 3350 Salisbury Road with visiting Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and from where the funeral will be held Friday, November 25 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. John Meenink officiating. Interment will be at the Nixon Cemetery. If so desired, memorials to the Nixon Baptist Church, Nixon Cemetery or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. www.keirsteads.ca
