Peacefully at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud, on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, of Chester M. Murray, formerly of Bayview Drive, St. Eleanors, age 93 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born in St. Eleanors on January 17, 1916, son of the late Melvin and Belle (Mellish) Murray. Husband of Hilda I. (Stevenson Andrews) Murray, South Shore Villa, Crapaud. Father of Lorna (Donald) Burns, North Bedeque, and Leith (Midge) Murray, Spring Valley. Stepfather of Jean Bell, North River; Thelma Campbell, Kensington; Mildred MacLean, Kensington; Malcolm Andrews, Summerside; William Andrews, Charlottetown; Arthur (Cherie) Okotoks, Alberta; and Allan (Lois) Andrews, Canoe Cove. Stepfather-in-law of Helen Andrews, Kensington. Grandfather of Natlie (Weston) Rayner, Wilmot Valley; Nigel (Angela) Burns, Charlottetown; Nathan (Wendy) Burns, Freetown; Dana (Kyle) Sayers, Wheatley, Ontario; Sarah Murray, Halifax; and Leah Murray, Spring Valley. Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren. Brother of Olive Mellish, Summerside; and Blanche (Robert) Lavoie, Wilmot Valley. Predeceased by his first wife, Vera (Arthur) Murray; stepson, Hillard Andrews; stepsons-in-law, Arthur Bell and Borden Campbell. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home, Kensington, for visitation on Friday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. only. Funeral Saturday in the Davison Funeral Home Chapel at 1:30 p.m. Interment later in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
