G. Burton Cooper 1938-2006 MIRAMICHI, NB - George Burton Cooper, of Gilliss Lane, Miramichi, passed away at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on Monday evening, September 25, 2006, at the age of 68. Born in Chatham, on May 1, 1938, he was the son of the late George W. and Ruby E. (Clark) Cooper. He was a machinist and millwright by profession and a former employee of Acadia Pulp & Paper, Airscrew Weyrock Ltd., and N.B. Power Corp. He was a member of Bethel United Church, Miramichi and a former member of the Moorefield Cemetery Committee. Burt always looked forward to going on his weekend tours, enjoying the great outdoors and spending time with his nieces and nephews, Annie and Cookie. He is survived by his stepmother, Mavis Cooper; one sister, Amy Swain, of Toronto, Ont.; five brothers, John Cooper, of Semiwagon Ridge, Charles Cooper, of Miramichi, James Cooper, of Edmonton, Alta., Archibald Cooper (Donna), of Miramichi, Kenneth Cooper (Kelly), of Grand Prairie, Alta.; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. Visiting will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., on Wednesday evening September 27, 2006, from 7 to 9 pm and Thursday, September 28, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Bethel United Church, Miramichi, on Friday, September 29, 2006, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. J.D. Kennedy. Interment will be in Moorefield Cemetery, Miramichi. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Childrens' Wish Foundation or any charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.
