Elvin Burton (Byng) Tozer The death of Elvin Burton (Byng) Tozer, husband of Shirley (Hare) (Lawlor) Tozer of Exmoor, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the age of 83. Born in Sunny Corner, NB, Byng was the son of the late Elvin E. and Harriet (Hattie) Tozer. A veteran of World War II, he served overseas with the Carleton York Regiment and the North Shore Regiment. Following the war he was employed with Abitibi Pulp and Paper, Thunder Bay, ON, for seven years. He retired from Waltec Industries, Cambridge, ON where he was employed for 35 years. He was a member of the Islandview Senior Citizens, Sunny Corner and Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 90, Sunny Corner and was a member of St. Stephen's United Church, Red Bank, NB. Besides his wife Shirley, he is survived by one son, Brian Tozer of Cambridge, ON; one step-son, Kim Lawlor (Grace) of Sunny Corner, NB; one step-daughter, Gertrude Lawlor (Gunther Reissner) of Yoho, NB; one granddaughter, Kristen Tozer of Cambridge ON; one step-grandson, Frank Lawlor of Sunny Corner, NB; six brothers, Hixon (Ila) of Miramichi, NB, Lorne (Margaret) of Whitney, NB, Daina (Melanie) Thunder Bay, ON, Frank (Lois) of Brantford ON, Joe (Myrna) of Truro, NS and Rev. Dr. Vernon (Pauline) of Brantford ON. Three sisters, Alda Sherrard (Sherman) of Sunny Corner, NB, Betty Field (Stewart) of Bayfield, ON and Mona Tozer of Sunny Corner, NB. Predeceased by his former wife, Mary (Sawchuk) Tozer (1986); and two infant sisters, Ina Mae and Edna Hazel. At Elvin's request there will be no visitation or Funeral Service. Following cremation a graveside service will be held at St. Stephen's United Church Cemetery, Red Bank, NB at a later date. In Elvin's memory a donation may be made at Bell's Funeral Home, to the St. Stephen's United Church Memorial Fund.
