James 'Jimmy' Sollazzo

1945-2008 Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James Peter Sollazzo 'Jimmy' on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Jimmy was a great carpenter and he also enjoyed playing music with his friends. Jimmy worked for the Cape Breton Regional Municipality. He was predeceased by his father and mother, Joseph 'Peppie' and Bernadette (Dominique) and sister, Shirley Pyke. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Louise (Foss), Sydney; son, Jamie (Michelle), Sydney; daughter, Terri (Rob) Achmann, Ontario; stepdaughter, Lisa (Brian MacDonald), Halifax; stepson, John MacDonald (Laurie), Ontario; sister, Marie (Ron Brace), Ontario; brothers, Jerry (Lucie), Ontario, Pat (Lucy), Sydney; and eight grandchildren. There will be no visitation; a funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, 40 Cabot St., Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Dunphy officiating. Donations may be made to the C.B.
