Haley Maria Dawn Totten

3, Scotchtown Haley Totten, 3, of Fortune Street, Scotchtown, passed away Monday, Nov. 10, 2008, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Sydney, she is the daughter of Francis Power and Donna Totten. Haley was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church, River Ryan. She enjoyed listening to country music and playing with her stuffed dog, Snuggles. Haley also loved her daily massages and her grandma's stories. She was mommy and daddy's little angel and touched the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Surviving are brothers, Donald and Francis, sister, Amanda, all at home; maternal grandmother, Helen Totten; godparents, Benny Hawley and Raylene Jacobi; several aunts, uncles, and friends. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Martin and Margie Power. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass to celebrate Haley's life will take place 11 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 13 at the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Gaul Centre, River Ryan. Donations in Haley's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. The family would like to thank the pediatric unit of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Dr. Rod Bird and Dr. Phil Curry for all their care and compassion. Also, a special thanks to Bernadette Borden of All Kids Early Intervention, Jack Aitkens of APSEA and Wanda Crawchuck from physiotherapy.
