Audrey Joan Bourque 1941- 2008 Audrey Joan Bourque (Steeves) of Moncton, NB, passed away Wednesday Nov. 5, 2008 in her 67th year. She passed peacefully at The Moncton Hospital surrounded by her loving family. After a lengthy illness, this truly strong woman has passed on to her glorious resting place. Born February 15, 1941, at The Glades, New Brunswick. Audrey was the daughter of the late Milton Gerald Steeves and the late Marjorie Mina (Douthwright) Steeves. In earlier years, she attended Oulton's Business College. She was later employed by The Royal Bank of Canada in Moncton, NB, Toronto and Aurora, ON, as well as the CIBC in Riverview Mall. She also worked with the elderly as a nursing assistant. After leaving her job with the CIBC in 1977, she stayed home to raise her family. Audrey also felt the need to share her love with others so she & her husband, Harvey, became foster parents (1980 - 1987) of many children. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Harvey Joseph Bourque (Moncton) of 46 years, who loved and cherished her. She was a great inspiration and wonderful mother to three children, Diana (Floyd) Osmond of Moncton, Paul (Carolyn) Bourque of Sherwood Park, AB, and Denise Bourque, at home in Moncton. Four grandchildren, Mitch and Cori Wyatt of Sherwood Park, AB and Natasha and Travis Osmond of Moncton. One sister, Linda (Bob) Thorne of Havelock, brother-in-law, Leif Dahl of Huntsville, ON, several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her identical twin sister, Ada Doreen (Steeves) Dahl (May 1995), and a niece, Amanda Thorne (May 1982). Thank you to the Doctors and Nursing staff of the Moncton Hospital, particularly the Palliative Care Unit (3600). What amazing folks you are! You were there to answer our questions and concerns. When attending to Audrey, you did so with respect and honour. Her family is deeply appreciative of all that you have done for her and our family. There will be a chapel service for family and friends at Fair Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, November 8th, 2008 at 1:00 pm, followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room. There will be no visitation as the body has been forwarded for cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the memorial of the donor's choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are in the care of Fairhaven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd., Moncton, (506) 852-3530. The family invites you to sign the online book of condolences at www.fairhavenmemorial.ca.
