Laura Anne MacIsaac
Date de naissance : 4 mai 1989
19, Liverpool It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter Laura. She was beautiful on the outside and even more on the inside. No more suffering, no more pain, she is now in the kingdom of God as His chosen angel. He must have needed her more than us. She passed away peacefully on Nov. 23, 2008, at Valley Regional Hospital, following surgery. Born May 4, 1989, in Liverpool, N.S., she was a graduate of Liverpool Regional High School and had intended to enter Saint Francis Xavier University in September of 2008 to the faculty of nursing. It was both the family history of attendance, as well as the coveted "X" ring, which Laura wanted so badly, that drew her to St. F.X. However, due to her ongoing illness, she had to defer her education. It was her dream to graduate with her nursing degree and join the team of Doctors Without Borders to care for those in need in foreign countries. She had an avid interest in curling, travelling, music, scrapbooking and animals. Laura is survived by her parents, Goretti and Duncan and a cherished brother, Neil. She is also survived by her two beloved therapy dogs, Lochie and Brodee. Also surviving are her maternal grandmother, Ann Deveau, Antigonish, and her paternal grandmother, Gladys MacIsaac, Glace Bay. She is also survived by her aunts, Rosaline Deveau, Lantz, Barbara Taylor (Robert), Mary Lou Mac Donald (Hughie), uncles, Leo (Marie), Robert, all of Glace Bay, Michael (Joanne), Sydney Forks, Uncle Jim Williams (Uncle Dim as she affectionately called him), Fort McMurray, and many caring cousins. She was predeceased by grandfathers, Henry Deveau, Cheticamp, and Duncan MacIsaac Sr., Glace Bay, as well as her uncle and godfather, Paul MacIsaac, Glace Bay. To the many doctors and nurses who cared for Laura, we are forever grateful. Laura would want special mention of the members of the Pain Clinic at the IWK, Dr. Finley (who she always called her big teddy bear), Dr. Gregoire, and clinical nurse Paula Forgeron, as well as Dr. Doucet, Dr. Gunn and Dr. Hamm. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 27 from 7-9 p.m. at Chandler's Funeral Home in Liverpool. Funeral mass will be held Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory's Catholic Church on Old Bridge Street in Liverpool. Memorial donations may be made to the Liverpool Regional High School Foundation, c/o PO. Box 1266, Liverpool, N.S., B0T 1K0 in remembrance of Laura.
