76, New Waterford We regret to announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Kay Muise, 76, of St. Joseph Street, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Alex 'Brick' and Susie (MacDonald) Campbell. Kay was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Church. In her early years, Kay worked at Breton Education Centre and the drycleaners. Kay loved playing darts, cards, and going to bingo. She was a member of the Army, Navy, Airforce, New Waterford. Kay will be remembered as a funny, kind, and caring woman. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie (JB), special daughter, Nicole (Lorne MacPherson); two sons, Jo Jo (Linda) and Raymond (Donna), all of New Waterford. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, J.R., Stephen, Jennifer, Amanda, Alishia, Bradley, Raymond Jr.; and three very special great-grandchildren, Matthew, Madison and Emma. Kay is survived by one brother, Joey Campbell; sisters, Dorothy Parr and Helen Campbell, all of New Waterford. Kay is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Kay was predeceased by her loving husband, Alby Muise and one sister, Mitt Bennett. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Kay will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 in the Parish of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Church, with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Army, Navy, Airforce, New Waterford. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
