BLACKMUN, FLORENCE - Florence Blackmun, 86, of Moncton, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, February 1, 2010. Born in Moncton, she was the daughter of the late Ovila and Florence (Brennan) Williams. Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and an active member of St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of the CWL, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, an active volunteer at her church and a former volunteer at the Ray of Hope Kitchen. Florence was an avid reader, an excellent cook, enjoyed 45 years at the family cottage at "The Bluff" and was involved in activities at her Norwood residence with her friends, but first and foremost was precious time with her family, especially her grandsons and great grandsons. Florence will be sadly missed by her daughter, Anne Melanson (Richard), Moncton; son, Peter (Kim), Moncton; grandsons, Kyle, Nathan and Ian; great grandsons, Dylan, Jacob and Jayden; brother, Robert Williams (Mary), Riverview; special friends, Anne Lahanky, Dolores LeBlanc and Liz Yack; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Allison Blackmun (May 1987); son, Stephen; sisters, Frances and Patsy-Anne; brothers, Alex and Frederick. Funeral Mass, St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church, Thursday, February 4, 2010, 2:00 pm, Rev. Yvon Arsenault officiating. Reception following the Mass. Interment, Shediac Road Cemetery.
