In great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother who died peacefully at the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital on Feb. 24, 2010. Her bravery and strength amazed everyone during her long battle with cancer.
Born and raised on Swede Creek Ranch, Pineview, Prince George, B.C., Jan. 28, 1939, Anne was the daughter of the late Raymond and Myrtle Pinko.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jamie, grandson, Garrett Basker, granddaughter, Judith Basker and brother, Earl Pinko.
She was a member of the Stella Maris parish. She was an avid gardener and was a member of the Inverness Garden Club. Her large beautiful gardens were often backdrops for wedding and graduation photos. She was an excellent seamstress and taught sewing lessons. She enjoyed travelling to faraway places with her sister Pinky. She loved to play CB bingo but her favourite hobby was standard bred horseracing. She owned and bred horses with her husband and nephews Walter and Junior. She was well known in the county for owning and running many successful businesses including Corner Jeans and the Gables Motel.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Rose-Anne Clarkin (Berkly MacDonald), Port Hastings, Brenda Reichel (Bruno), Inverness, Judy Walker (Gordy Mercer), Lower Sackville; sons, Ray Walker (Cheryl Mac Eachern), Inverness, and Danny Walker, Inverness; grandchildren, Blaze Clarkin, Bobby and Rhonda Wiswell, Kassandra and Phelan Reichel, Jamie and Cyndi La Blanc, Anna and Laura Walker and Miss Emma Rose Walker; great-grandchildren, Bryson Wiswell and Jerzee Clarkin; sister, Pinky (Arne Saastad), Kamloops, B.C.; brothers, Dale and Glen Pinko, Prince George, B.C.; the Walker in-laws, nieces, nephews and her best friend, Betty Walker.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Inverness funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Stella Maris Church, Inverness, with Fr. Duncan MacIsaac officiating.
Donations in Anne's Memory may be made to Central Inverness palliative care society.
May you be surrounded in God’s beautiful garden now, free of suffering and sickness.
