83, North Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jeanie Orr Lewis age 83 a resident of Beacon Crescent, North Sydney on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at her home. Born in Shotts Dykehead, Scotland she was a daughter of the late Matthew and Elizabeth Inglis. Jeanie was a member of St. Giles Presbyterian Church, North Sydney . She was an avid bingo player. Jeanie is survived by her sons Harry (Diane) Lewis, Sault St. Marie, Norman (Melody) Lewis, Halifax; daughters Frances (Ken) Jessome, Rainbow Lake, Alta., Elizabeth (Garvey) Brown, England; brothers Matthew and James; sister Margaret, all of Scotland, 11 grandchildren Barbara, Jennifer, Sara, Stacey, Jackie, Andrea, Curtis, Lori, Jamie, Chantelle and Matthew; 14 great grandchildren, also a number of brothers and sisters-in-law of the Lewis Family and several nieces and nephews. Jeanie was predeceased by her husband Norman James Lewis, brothers Andrew and Alex. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Tuesday in the W. J. Dooley Funeral Home 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney . Burial to take place at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Palliative Care of Cape Breton or a charity of ones choice.
