Gero, Albert “Butch” Kitchener - 59, Truro, passed away on February 27, 2010 in Colchester Regional Hospital Truro. Born in Montreal, he was the son of his loving mother, Mary Cummiskey (Hardie) and the late Albert Gero Sr. Albert worked hard for 20 years, providing for his loving family, until his first heart attack at the age of 36. Butch touched many, many people in this town and left a lasting impression on all whom he encountered. He is survived by his wife and best friend Karen (Waugh). A loving father to Robert of Regina, Joshua, Edmonton and Devin, Truro; grandfather “Gordie” to his "Pride and Joy" Nevaeh; brother, Raymond, Montreal; sisters, “Sis” Shirley, Helen (Brent) both of Truro; sister-in-law, Judy Burrill; nieces, BevAnn, Tia, and Christine; nephews, Corey, Craig and Christopher; other children, Tony Higgins, Albert Jr, Karrie Anne and Shelly. Butch was predeceased by a brother, John Gero; brother-in-law, Bryan Dill. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm on Wednesday, March 3 with a memorial service at 7:00 pm Thursday, March 4, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro, Pastor Brian Johnston officiating.
