Springfield, Virginia Norma (Carey) Chisholm in Springfield, Virginia, passed away on December 23, 2008. Born in Florence, Nova Scotia to Dan and Florence (Williams) Carey, she was a longtime summer resident of New Campbellton. She graduated from High School in Somerville, Massachusetts, the Remington School of Accounting and the Burdette Business School. She served as lead bookkeeper at Dwey-Almy Chemical Corporation before moving to Virginia where she worked for the Director of Biological Research at the Office of Naval Research. Volunteer activities included Travellers Aid at Union Station, Children's Home Society of Virginia and various church functions. She also served as an usher at the Kennedy Center for over 30 years. Hobbies included modern dance, painting, square dancing, card playing (bridge and 45s) and providing firm supervision for her husband Herbert. Her cooking specialities included lasagna, potato salad, fish chowder, oatmeal-raisin cookies, bread pudding, chocolate sheet cake and blueberry grunt (in prodigious quantities). Norma is survived by her husband of 58 years, Herbert; son, Carey of Indiana; son, Todd of Michigan; and daughter, Sarah of Massachusetts. Also by sister, Eleanor of Massachusetts and granddaughters, Kelsey and Tyler of Indiana. Her older sister, Kay preceded her in death. Memorial Service and Interment will be held in New Campbellton in July 2009.
