Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Complex on August 21, 2008, Lewis E. Mercer, age 86 years. Long time member of Masonic Lodge and S.U.F. Bay Roberts. Predeceased by parents Tom and Mary Mercer (Bay Roberts), brothers Ralph (Toronto), Ray (Boston) and Fred (Woodstock). Leaving to mourn loving and devoted wife of 59 years Audrey (Stevens) Mercer, four sons Dave (Sandra), Frank (Sharon), Doug (Andrea) and Tom (Téresè), nine grandchildren and two special great-grandchildren; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held at Barrett's Chapel on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy donations in his memory may be made to St. Thomas' Anglican Church.
