July 15, 1922-Dec. 28, 2008 Angela Louise (Tortola) Giacomantonio, 86, of Sydney, formerly of 182 Lingan Rd. passed away peacefully Dec. 28, 2008, at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility surrounded by family and friends. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Almerinda Tortola. She was a member of St. Nicholas parish all her life. She was a member of the St. Nicholas Ladies Auxiliary, the Cape Breton Italian Cultural Association, and a devout patron of Ste. Anne de Beau Pre. Her life was devoted to her husband and children and for that they are eternally grateful. Angela is survived by four sons, Michael (Joyce), Halifax, Joe (Lexie), Sydney, Carman (Margo) and Nicholas (Victoria), both of Halifax. Also by her grandchildren, James, Christopher, Angela, Deanna, Tracy, Katherine, Michael, Nicholas, Curtis, Nicole, Sarah and Dominic. She was predeceased by brothers, Anthony, Michael, Ernest and Dominic Tortola.' Visitation for Angela Giacomantonio will be held Tuesday, Dec. 30 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St., Sydney. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Gerald Dunphy officiating and burial to follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Online condolences may be forwarded to the family at www.mem.com.
