Milner, Derek Arthur John - of Vale Drive, Bathurst NB, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 after a short illness, he was the husband of Annette Frenette for 40 years. Born August 20, 1937 in Southend on Sea, England, he was the son of the late Richard and late Hilda (Lilly) Milner. Besides his wife, he is survived by, sister Valerie (Gus Borouilos) of Ottawa; two nieces, Caroline (Guy Landry) and Helen (Creg Kempt) both of Ottawa. He was predeceased by a sister; Joyce. Derek served in Canadian Navy for 3 years and was a former IBM employee. As an artist, he was a member of the Bathurst Art Society, the Water Front Commission, the Salmon Association and the Bathurst Chamber of Commerce. He was the president of Office Concepts Ltd until 1990; also, of Executive 500 Business Center in Moncton, until his retirement in 2000 when moved back to Bathurst. Will be sadly missed by wife, sister and best friend Vito Canini. Thank you to Dr. Wade and the extra mural nurses. We, also wish to send a special thank you to Gaby Losier and Pat White for their support from the hospice of palliative care, and to Carrance for your help in caring for my husband at home.
There will be no visitation at funeral home. A funeral service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Elhatton Funeral Home (www.elhatton.com) Bathurst.
