Michael Thomas 'Tom' Campbell, 74, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, in Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Glace Bay, Sept. 5, 1934, he was a son of the late Don Neil Campbell and the late Mary Catherine MacNeil. Tom is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean; daughter, Christine (Mark) Nomura; grandchildren, Ryoko, Kimiko, Mariko and Emiko; sons, Michael, Donald; grandchildren, Andrew and Adrienne; and Shawn (Tracey); grandchildren, Connor and Jakob. Tom is also survived by brothers, Andrew (BettyAnn), Murdock (Cory), William (Doreen); sisters, Margaret (Mark) Westhaver, Anne (William) Jeffries; and numerous nephews and nieces. Tom served proudly in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 23 years which included serving a tour in Egypt and was also an instructor for Department of Defence-Royal Canadian Engineers for many years in Chilliwack, B.C. Tom was an avid traveller, golfer and curler. He also enjoyed fishing on the Bras d'Or with his good friend Bernie. Memorial service to be held, Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. in Johnstown Sacred Heart Church, Fr. Joe Gillis officiating. Family flowers only.
