EVANS, Trevor James - 89 of Nictaux, Annapolis County passed away Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Maesteg, South Wales he was a son of the late David and Agnes (Thomas) Evans. Trevor first came to Canada in 1941 as a member of the R.A.F. and was posted to R.A.F. Station, Greenwood. At the end of the War he returned to Wales and later immigrated to Canada in 1949, settling in Annapolis Royal. After 32 years of service with Nova Scotia Light and Power, Trevor and Alma, who passed in 2001, retired in Nictaux. He is survived by sons Allan (Karen), Woodstock, NB and Keith, Nictaux. Sisters Nesta (Phillip) Evans, South Wales and Anne (Des) Walters, South Wales. Grandchildren Mari and Scot, and great grandchildren Ella, Evan and Conner. He was predeceased by his wife the former Alma Hamm; brothers, Dillwyn and David; sister, Betty. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held Wednesday, February 24th in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 Rev. Karen Ralph officiated. A reception followed. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annapolis Royal at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton or charity of choice. The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Paul MacLean as well as to the nursing staff of the Medical Floor and the ER of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for the compassionate care that was provided to Trevor during the past number of months.
