92, Ingonish, N.S. We, the family of the late Valencia A. Jackson of Ingonish, born on Aug. 9, 1916, regret to announce her passing on Dec. 27, 2008, at the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville, N.S. She was the daughter of the late John and Charlotte (Hardy) Barnes. She was predeceased by her husband, John L. Jackson and one son in infancy. She is survived by five children, Shirley DeKouchay, Sydney, Leonard (Maureen) Jackson, Sydney River, Emily (Frank) Spriggs, New Minas, Douglas (Jeanette) Jackson, Ingonish, Lewis (Irene) Jackson, Brockville, Ont.; and 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Edna Ings and Julia Blagdon, North Sydney. Val and her late husband operated a restaurant and later Keltic View General Store in Ingonish. She was an avid crocheter and knitter, as well as other crafts, which she enjoyed immensely. A special thank you is extended to the doctors and nurses on surgical floor, Valley Regional Hospital, for their exceptional care and support. Cremation has taken place. Committal service will take place in Ingonish at a later date, to be announced.
