79, New Waterford Theresa MacGillivray, 79, of Baker Street, New Waterford, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at New Waterford Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Hilary and Alice (White) Brown. Theresa was a member of the Parish of St. Leonard. She was employed with the T. Eaton Company and later moved on to manage Eaton's Catalogue Sales. She then worked for Schwartz Clothing Store in New Waterford for a number of years until her retirement in 1991. Theresa enjoyed gardening and crafts. She also loved going to her grandsons hockey games. Surviving are daughter, Patty (Michael) Horyl, River Ryan; son, Cordell MacGillivray, New Waterford; brothers, George (Shirley) Brown, New Victoria, Hilary (Carmel) Campbell, Sydney; sisters, Agnes Bolan, Vivian (Robert) Service, both of Hamilton, Ont.; grandchildren, Brandon, Amanda, and Stephen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Theresa was predeceased by her husband, Douglas, in 1985, brothers, Senly, Hilary 'Brud', Urban Brown, John Brown, Rob Brown and a sister, May Brown. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Theresa will be held Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. in the Parish of St. Leonard, St. Michael Church with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. Interment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at Saint Agnes hall. All are welcome.
