Sydney It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected death of a kind and gentle woman, Catherine Ann Marie Peck, on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009. Cathy was a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and a wonderful friend to many. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family. She was an avid reader who enjoyed walking, gardening, music, playing cards and animals, especially cats. She is survived by her loving husband, Maurice; devoted children, Paula Kennedy (Gary), Michael (Jo-Ann), Theresa Peck MacLennan (David), Cathy (John MacDonald), Janet DeGiobbi (Michael); grandchildren, Tracey, Mark, Matthew, Erin, Stephen, Anna, Logan, Cameron, Beth, Emma, Charlotte, Ryan, Jennifer, Chelsea; great-grandchildren, Caylin, Josh and Riley. She is also survived by sister, Tina LeBlanc and twin brother, David (Coley) Lake. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Theresa (MacNeill) Lake, siblings, Barry, Arthur and Stuart. Honouring Cathy's wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Sydney, with Rev. Gerald Dunphy officiating. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel.
