Tessier; Davila "Dave" Charles Tessier, age 83, of Lac Pelletier, Sk. passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, Sk. A Prayer Service was held Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. The Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from Ste. Anne Catholic Church, Lac Pelletier with Father Raymond Carignan officiating. From his church family were the organist was Joanne Monette and the eulogy was presented by Pat McGuire while the usher was Darrel Monette and the pallbearers were Robert Perron, Lucien Monette, Denis Longtin, Robert Laverdiere, Robert Chabot, and Pat McGuire. Honorary Pallbearers were everyone who shared in his life. Davila was born on August 13, 1926 on the homestead in Blesson, near Webb. He was the youngest of thirteen children born to Joseph and Angelina Tessier. He attended school at Lac Pelletier village, where he was taught by the Sisters. Dave farmed with his father at Lac Pelletier. He met Viola Knelsen at one of his friends home, where she worked. They were married in Nelson, B.C. on February 19, 1966. The couple took over the family farm and resided there until his passing. Dave was a member of the Ste. Anne's parish, the Knights of Columbus and the Lac Pelletier Snow Plow Club. He enjoyed gardening, puzzles, coffee row in Swift Current when weather permitted, woodworking, and caring for the farm animals. After his first heart attack, Dave took up cooking, playing horseshoes, Wednesday nights in Mr. Chabot quonset. He will be remembered for his faithfulness to his Lord and his church. He enjoyed family, especially his new grandson. Dave is survived by his wife Viola (Knelsen) Tessier; daughter Dawn Tessier; grandson Kamran Tessier; sisters-in-law Marion Tessier, Ida Knelsen and Delma Knelsen; a special niece Lorraine (Robert) Medforth, their daughter Erin and many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Joseph Tessier; mother Angelina (Turcotte) Tessier; brothers Alfred (Julia), Arthur (Bernadette), Aime (Christiane), Leance (Ethel) and Emile; sisters Lydia (Laurent) Guy, Leonie (Willie) Pribyle; father and mother-in-law Abraham and Hannah Knelsen and brother-in-law Wayne Knelsen. In Dave's memory, friends may make a memorial donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society. Warren's Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
