Smith, Daisy Elizabeth, 94, of Berwick Kings Co., passed away Sunday March 7, 2010 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Waterford, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Haddon and Annie (Woodman) Westcott. Daisy was a member of the Berwick United Church, Weston Women’s Institute, United Church Auxiliary, Berwick Hospital Auxiliary and Central Kings Crusaders Senior Citizens. She worked at the W.K.M Hospital in Berwick as a seamstress for a number of years. She volunteered at the hospital’s canteen and was well known for her delicious cinnamon & sugar tea biscuits. Daisy enjoyed gardening and crafts. In her later years she lived at Fundy Villa, where she enjoyed being with her many friends and visiting with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and family. Daisy is survived by her daughter, Jackie Frost, Berwick; sons, Leigh (Janice) Smith, Bridgewater, Paul (Karen) Smith, Annapolis Co.; grandchildren, Gillian (Emerson) Huntley, Melanie (Ian) Frost-Goyetche, Michael (Lisa) Smith, Adam (Laura) Smith, Alana & Todd Smith; great grandchildren, Ashley & Ethan Huntley, Kaden Goyetche, Nathan and Fiona Smith; several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Daisy was predeceased by her husband James “Archie†Smith; son, James Smith; brothers, Wilfred, Sidney, Leigh and Aubry Westcott; sisters, Lena Haight, Florence Merritt, Imelda Daken & Alda Boutilier; son-in-law, Ian Frost. There was no visitation. A memorial service followed by a reception took place at 2 p.m. Wednesday March 10 in Berwick United Church . Rev. Linda Winton officiating assisted by Rev. Dr. Judith Saunders. A private interment took place before the memorial service in Berwick Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of H.C.
