  • Remembering a Wonderful Man

Brian Tod on 18 novembre 2010

“I want to tell you a story about a man and a boy. It begins plain

enough, boy is born and lives a simple life with his mother and

father. Mother and father in love, somehow fall out of love. Like many

modern day stories who suffers? The young, the boy. Not for long,

actually not at all. Why? Someone has always been there for the boy.

The man. The man picks the boy up when he falls and kisses his

superficial or non-existent cut and hugs him until everything is

better. The man helps the boy grow up. Teaches him right and wrong.

Sometime with words, sometimes with actions. The words and actions are

not always perfect but no man is perfect. to the boy that doesn't

matter. All that matters is the love that the man shows the boy. Loves

that comes in fishing trips, hunting and simple walks. Slowly the boy

becomes a man and the man grows old. The man passes. Don't be sad

though the man shall live for eternity. Everything the man has shared

and taught the boy will be passed on. How do I know, because I am the

boy and the man is my Grandpa. Robert Joseph Gallant. Everything my

Grandpa has passed to me, the love, the caring. I will pass to my

children. Grandpa I just want to thank you for making me the man, the

husband and the father I have become. I will never forget you.”

“If tears could build a stairway,
    And memories a lane,
I\\\'d walk right up to Heaven
    And bring you home again.
