It is with great sadness that the family of Romeo Florean announces his passing on March 15th, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton following a lengthy illness. Romeo was born on July 31st, 1929 in Sequals, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1961 and chose Fredericton as his home in 1963, after working several years in Toronto. Like so many newcomers, Romeo worked enthusiastically to establish a new life for his family and made many cherished friendships to assist him in creating his family’s new life. Romeo leaves behind his beloved wife, Maria of 55 years; his two sons, Roberto (Kelli) and Luigi (Joan). Romeo is also survived by his sisters, Anna Christopholi of Belgium and Linda Tesan of France and his pride and joy – his grandchildren, Leah (Adam Bowie), Justin and Harrison. The strength and solace of Romeo’s strong arms will be greatly missed by his family.
Romeo was a member of St. Dunstan’s parish.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home (458-9170) on Thursday, March 18th, 2010 from 7 to 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 19th, 2010 at 12 noon at St. Dunstan’s Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Gerry White as celebrant.
