74, Sydney Mines We regret to announce the passing of William Hugh Simpson, 74, of 45 Brooklyn Ave., suddenly on Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at the Northside General Hospital. Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Daisley) Simpson. He was a peacekeeper in the Canadian Armed Forces having served in the Middle East. William is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; son, William Jr. (Denise), Ontario; daughter, Bobbi Marie, Truro; and grandchildren, Danielle and Natasha. He is also survived by a sister, Rosina (Al) Smith, Dartmouth; sister-in-law, Cecilia; nephew, Joseph; as well as many other nieces, nephews, grandnieces and nephews. Besides his parents, William was predeceased by brothers, John, Thomas, James and Joseph and his niece, Margaret. By request of our father, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Nova Scotia.
