67, Sydney/New Waterford It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Barbara Ann Chapel on Jan. 23, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Robert (Bobby) Boudreau and Catherine Boudreau Maroun, Sydney. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed playing darts, shuffleboard, was a member of the Seniors Citizens Club and the Ashby Legion Women's Auxiliary. At one time she also worked at Penny's Dry Cleaning in Sydney. Barbara is survived by her husband, Martin Greg Chapel; mother, Catherine Maroun; son, Danny (Mary) Campbell, Glace Bay; daughter, Darlene (Gerald 'Monk') Petrie, New Waterford; sister, Lorna (David), New Brunswick; grandchildren, Robert, Jeffery, Natasha, Amanda and Kristin; great-grandchildren ,Benjamin and Sophie. Visitation for Barbara will be held Tuesday, Jan. 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 862-7500, and a funeral mass to celebrate Barbara's life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m. in the parish of St. Leonard/St. Michael's Church, River Ryan, with Fr. Paul MacNeil officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's memory can be made to the Cape Breton Palliative Care.
