Eskasoni Feb. 14, 1987-Jan. 24, 2009 Valon Tina Sylliboy, 21, Eskasoni, passed away at home on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009. Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of Nancy Sylliboy and Christopher Gabriel. She was a member of Holy Family parish, Eskasoni. Valon had a great love for her dogs. She was a fourth year student at CBU. Valon won numerous awards, graduating highest in her four years of high school. She won numerous athletic awards in baseball. Valon will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humour and hard work in everything she tackled. Besides her parents, she is survived by her sisters, Mary Madeline 'Maddy', Kaelyn, brother, Gerald 'Switch', all at home; godparents, Terrance Sylliboy and Ann Frances; grandfather, Roderick Bernard; special mom, Jessie and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Also surviving are her special friends, Mary Paul, Tahirah Paul, Holly Denny, Malian Levi, Ally Sylliboy, plus many more friends. She was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Simon and Mary Sylliboy and Madeline Poulette Bernard, paternal grandparents, Miranda Gabriel and Fred Gabriel and brother, Roderick Jr., who died at birth. Visitation for the late Valon Syllliboy will be held at the home of her parent, 47 Naomi Dr., Eskasoni, beginning Thursday after 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 p.m. at Holy Family Church with Rev.
