83, Sydney/Sydney Mines James 'Jimmy' Hall, 83, passed away peacefully at Harbourstone Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney, on Monday, Jan. 26, 2009. Born in Sydney Mines, he was the son of the late Bill and Margaret (McConvol) Hall. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in Italy, France and Germany. Jimmy is survived by his son, Jim (Maggie) Hall, Blairmoore, Alta.; and his daughter, Debbie (David) Blackie, Sydney Mines. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Terra (Brian) Cousins; a great-grandson, Regan; special brother, Cliff (Mary) Hall, Sydney Mines; and sisters, Marguerite, Bedford, and Kate, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, brothers, Bill, Tommy, Frank, Phonse and Pat and a sister, Mary. There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. The funeral mass will be held Friday, Jan. 30, 2009, at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church, Sydney Mines, with Fr. J.J. MacDonald officiating.
