Powers, Stella Mary - 90, of Kenneth Spencer Memorial Home, Moncton and formerly Salisbury passed away at the home on Wednesday March 31, 2010. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Elise (Leger) Goguen. A homemaker she enjoyed family gatherings, quilting, gardening and reading. Survived and sadly missed by her children Raymond Powers (Anita) of Hampton, Bob Powers (Lorraine) of Saint John, Ralph Powers (Elsa) of Texas, Ruth Sherwood of Salisbury, Ron Powers (Gayle) of Saint John; her grandchildren Krista Locke (Tim), Tracey Wright, Donald Powers, Erin Jones (Joe), Richard Powers (Giselle), Cheryl Lynn Roy (Mike), Stephanie Powers, Adam Powers (Alisha), Bree Powers, Rhonda Roslin (Alex), Shawn Sherwood (Tina), Becky Powers and Melissa Powers. Survived also by 19 great grandchildren, a soon to be born great great grandchild; sister Phyllis Curwin of Shediac; brother Desire Goguen of Moncton and several nieces and nephews.Predeceased by her husband Jesse and son David and several brothers and sisters.
The Funeral will be held from the Salisbury Funeral Home Chapel, 3350 Salisbury Road (372-4800) on Saturday April 3 at 1 p.m.No visiting hours by request. Interment at Fairhaven Cemetery. If desired memorials to the Diabetic Society would be appreciated by the family.
