Kenneth George Fraser, 77, of Cheticamp, N.S., died March 31, 2009, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Cheticamp, he was a son of the late Alexander Martin and Mamie (Chiasson) Fraser.
Kenneth was a renowned boat builder and craftsman. He was the owner and operator of Fraser and Chiasson Building Supplies for over 40 years. He will always be remembered for his love of trout fishing and snowmobiling in the highlands of Cape Breton.
Kenneth will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pauline Poirier; one son, Kenneth Jr. (Priscille), Cheticamp; three daughters, Norma Travis (Jerry), Sydney, Paula Fraser, Halifax and Gisele Fraser (Barry Babineau), Halifax; one sister, Pauline MacDonald (Rod), Dartmouth; three grandchildren, Stephen Travis, Newfoundland, Paul Travis, Scotland and Keith Fraser, Cheticamp.
Visitation will be held in the Cheticamp Funeral Home today (Friday), April 3, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 4, 2009 at 10 a.m. in St. Peter’s Church, Cheticamp with Fr. Peter LeBlanc officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
