It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the peaceful passing of David Alexander Wilkie, age 64, former resident of North Sydney, on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at the Adult Residential Center in Bridgetown, N.S.
Born in Montreal, David was the son of the late Stanley Allen and Elsie Mae (MacDonald) Wilkie. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, North Sydney. David had a great love for animals, and while living in North Sydney could always be found at the race track and exhibition. He was an avid reader and loved to take walks around town.
David is survived by his only brother Darrell, Eastern Passage, and his three nieces Megan Louise, Sarah Jane, and Melissa Ann, and grand niece Samantha and grand nephew Zakery.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Garth Wilkie.
Visitation for David will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Jim Attwood officiating. Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Sydney.
