Michael James Bruce, 50, Coquitlam, BC, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2009, surrounded by loving family and friends. He fought a valiant fight for a month on life support.
Born in Kentville, NS., August 6, 1958, Michael was the son of Lois (MacKenzie) and Jim Bruce.
He is survived by wife, Cathy (Torjek) Coquitlam, BC; sons, Ryan and Devon Bruce, Coquitlam, BC, Anne Bruce, Coquitlam, BC; sisters, Debbie Wesley (Christopher), Antigonish, Susan Bruce, Pictou; brothers: Howard Bruce, ON; Martin Sabattis, NB.; nieces: Melanie Yorke, Trenton; Jennifer Yorke, New Glasgow; Emily Wesley, Antigonish; Nicole Wesley, Antigonish; Madisyn Yorke, Trenton; nephews: Omer Fournier, ON; Kyle Yorke, Pictou; Keagan Fournier, Stellarton; Riley Long, Trenton; Logan Fournier, ON; and Tyler Fournier, ON; uncles, John MacKenzie (Joy), New Glasgow; Bill Gorman (Sherie) NB; aunts: Freda Scallopenti, Florida; Mary LePage, NFL; Augustine Golf, Florida; Berta Rowe, NFLD; Madonna Green, NFLD.
Michael is lovingly remembered by his many cousins and friends. He will be sadly missed.
Memorial service will be held in Coquitlam, BC on April 16, 2009. Cremation has taken place. A memorial will be held at a later date at Christ Church, Stellarton, NS.
