NEW GLASGOW – Elizabeth Agnes “Betty” MacGregor, Dartmouth, formerly of George St., New Glasgow, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Eastern Shore Memorial Hospital, Sheet Harbour.
Born March 6, 1916, in Stellarton, she was a daughter of the late R. Guy and Beatrice (Munro) MacGregor.
A lifelong resident of New Glasgow she was a graduate of the New Glasgow High School and attended Maritime Business College. She was a receptionist for Dr. H.H. Felderhof and secretary at Trenton Steel Works Office. She was a member and choir member of the former Westminster Church and was a member of Saint Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and the W.M.S. Betty loved life, quality music and enjoyed travelling with her sister, Eleanor. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by many cousins and close friends: Sandra, Bernard and Garth MacPhee and Marilyn Melanson.
She was predeceased by her sister, Eleanor.
Visitation will be from noon to the time of the funeral at 1 p.m. Friday in the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, New Glasgow, with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
