NEW GLASGOW – Marilyn Ann Patterson, age 60, of 415 South Frederick St., New Glasgow, passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 18, 2009 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Margaret Patterson. Marilyn spent most of her working life in New Glasgow, having been employed at Cameron and Fraser, Wear Well Garments and as a personal care worker. Marilyn will be sadly missed by all who knew her, as she was a kind and caring person. She is survived by sisters: Mary (Stewart) Cameron, Toronto; Joyce (Joe) Burke, Toronto; Jean (Anthony) Kell, Antigonish; brothers: Walter, New Glasgow; Donald (Adrienne), New Glasgow; Edward (Shirley), New Glasgow; numerous nephews and nieces in P.E.I., Ontario, British Columbia, California and Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by brother George Roderick, sisters: Janet, Kay and Carol. In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will take place with interment in the family plot in Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date. Marilyn was an avid supporter of the S.P.C.A. and any memorial gifts to that cause would be appreciated. The family is grateful to Dr. Tom Park, EHS paramedics, and the staff of the Aberdeen Hospital for their care and attention as well as the many expressions of condolences during this difficult time.
