It is with great sadness that the family of the late William Baxter Janes announce his passing at the Interfaith Home in Corner Brook, on Tuesday, April 28th, 2009 at the age of 92 years. Leaving to mourn with very fond and loving memories are his 9 children: Marion (Raymond) Reid, Daisy (Chesley) Barrow, Wavey (Ronald) Flynn, Wilson (Linda), Cyril (Mary), Rowena (Winsor) Earle, Melvin (Madlyn), Raymond (Laura), and Maxine (Peter) Alexander; his 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and his 5 great great grandchildren. Also left to mourn are his step children: Mrs. Dorothy Evans, Shirley (Otto) Roberts, Mrs. Ethel Hobbs and their families of Triton; his brothers and sisters: Aubrey (Bonnie), Doyle (Margaret), Oliver (Gertie), Ford (Bertha), Lloyd, Mrs. Joan Easton and Mrs. Hilda Bingle, as well as a very large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Baxter was predeceased by his wife Albertha on August 4th, 1978, and his second wife Lillian on October 29th, 1998, granddaughter Ywana Barrow, his parents: Edwin & Maude, his brothers: Everett, Chesley, Douglas and his sister Ethel Easton, his stepson Heman and Bert Evans. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake today Thursday, April 30th, 2009 from the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday, May 1st, 2009 at 2 pm from the Salvation Army Church in Deer Lake with Majors: Cyril Janes, Wilson Janes, Raymond Janes & Major Lindsey Oxford officiating with the burial to follow at the family plot at High Street Cemetery, Deer Lake. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Deer Lake Salvation Army Church in Baxter’s memory would be gratefully appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake.
